Sarah Cowley Ross

Sarah Cowley Ross

Passionate about health, wellbeing and performance Sarah Cowley Ross loves to see people thrive.

A New Zealand born Samoan, Sarah fulfilled a long dream of becoming an Olympian in 2012 competing at the London Olympics in the heptathlon. She represented New Zealand at two Commonwealth Games in the heptathlon (2006) and high jump (2014). After a fifteen year international career Sarah retired in 2014 following the World Athletics Continental Cup where she was a member of the Asia Pacific team.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Health Science (Physiotherapy) and a Bachelor of Communications. She was a host for the TVNZ broadcast of the Tokyo Olympic Games, is a commentator for Athletics NZ, Chair of the New Zealand Olympic Committee Athletes' Commission sitting on the Board of the NZOC, and a dedicated columnist to the Locker Room. Her most important role is Mum to Max and Poppy.

David Foreman

David Foreman

David is a pharmacist, naturopath, author, speaker and media personality known internationally as “The Herbal Pharmacist®”. His background in pharmacy and natural medicine has put him in an elite class of health experts.

David is highly sought for his ability to connect the science world with sales and marketing. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, and author of hundreds of articles and dozens of books.

He is currently on the editorial advisory board for Nutritional Outlook and is a frequent speaker at most major industry events including: Vitafoods Europe, Vitafoods Asia, SupplySide West and Vitafoods Insights.

Helen Robinson

With a 30-year background leading technology companies Helen is an entrepreneur with interests in a diverse range of innovative companies across many industries including technology, finance, sustainability and consumer goods. Former executive roles include MD of Microsoft NZ and Global MD, Markit Group (now S&P Global). Helen founded and was CEO for Organic Initiative Ltd (Oi) and remains a significant shareholder and Director. Helen chairs the NZTE Beachheads for NZ, alongside several other Chair and Directorship roles. Helen was recognized as an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM) in 2017; won the NZ Supreme Women of Influence Award 2016; Most Inspiring Individual at NZ Innovation Awards 2017; Next Magazine’s Woman of the Year in Business & Innovation; and Most Inspiring Women Leader at the NZ International Business Awards in 2019. Her personal mission is to ‘do good at scale’.

Hamish joined Craigs at the beginning of 2022 and started as a research analyst specialising in international equities. Prior to joining Craigs, he had a successful career in corporate finance working for top-tier advisory firms on engagements in both New Zealand and Australia.

Since the start of 2023, Hamish has been responsible for coordinating and delivering all aspects of Craigs’ research and investment strategy for private wealth clients. Our research covers equities, fixed income, alternative assets, currencies, portfolio strategy, economics and corporate actions. It is disseminated to advisers and clients of Craigs. Hamish holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics and Money & Finance (First Class Honours) from Victoria University of Wellington.

Mallika Janakiraman

Mallika Janakiraman, has over three and a half decades expertise in food, nutrition, and nutraceuticals, integrating consumer insights, unique selling propositions, and regulatory compliance into her strategic approach.

Her career includes serving as an industry representative on India's inaugural Scientific Panel for Functional foods, Nutraceuticals, Dietetic Products and Other similar products, at the Food Safety and Standards Authority. She was a taskforce member in shaping Indian Dietary Guidelines under the Women and Child Development, Government of India. Mallika is a committee member of the newly formed Federation of Oceanic Nutrition Societies (FONS). She is also a stakeholder for South Asian projects in 2024-2025 from the Division of Health Sciences, University of Otago.

Dr Dominic Lomiwes

Dr. Dominic Lomiwes leads the Immune Health and Physical Performance team in the Food Innovation Group at The New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research. The Institute conducts transdisciplinary research across all aspects of the food value chain: from plant breeding and sustainable production, right through to ingredient and product development, and consumer insights – with strong capability in the plant-based innovation space. It also supports the development and marketing of nutritionally sound products through analysis and advisory of product composition, and health information for consumers based on science. Dr Lomiwes team specifically conducts research to investigate “food functionality” – the benefits of foods and ingredients in supporting immunity, physical performance and cognitive function to support the New Zealand industry in the creation of value-added functional foods and nutraceuticals, as well as understanding mechanisms that underpin their bioactivity.

Greg Macpherson

Greg Macpherson is a Pharmacist, Biotechnologist, Cellular Health Expert and Author. For more than 30 years he has worked at the intersection of technology and the health fields and recently, in the last decade working in the biotechnology sector, specifically focusing on the aging process at a cellular level.

This work led him to discover ways to harness the scientific hallmarks of aging, which drive aging at a cellular level and build a longevity wellness brand from these foundations. Recently, SRW Laboratories has partnered with leading AI drug discovery company, Insilico Medicine, to develop next generation products targeting aging.

Claudia Mosimann

Claudia Mosimann brings nearly 20 years of expertise to her role as the Commercial Lead for Consumer Health at IQVIA in New Zealand. With a background in research and data analytics, Claudia has worked extensively with companies in the natural health and complementary products sector in New Zealand.

Claudia will be sharing her strategic insights and industry knowledge at the upcoming Natural Health Products Conference with a focus on key trends and market dynamics.

Brooke Neal

Brooke Neal

Brooke Neal is an Olympian, mindset coach and speaker. She uses her experience in elite sport to inspire people to be healthier in their lives while pursuing their dreams to the highest level.

On the hockey field, she played 176 games for New Zealand over an impressive 10 year period. During this time, she placed 4th at the 2016 Olympic Games and won Gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Struggling with burnout, self doubt, grief and chronic pain, the hustle and grind approach of the high performance environment led her to breaking point, where she was forced to make a decision. Does she quit? Or does she find a different way to become one of the best defenders? Instead of working harder and putting in the most hours, she started her own business, practised daily mindfulness and became a yoga teacher.

Surprisingly, by finding more balance in her life, her performance on the field improved dramatically and she became known as ‘the rock at the back’.

Gareth joined Scitex on the back of a career which spanned Australasia, the United States and Europe with a major global manufacturer of FMCG, Nutritional supplements & Healthcare products. During this time, Gareth led its Regional Innovation Strategy and Development from New York and sat on the NZ Management team in Auckland, amid various other senior roles. Prior to this, Gareth worked in multiple positions within various Food manufacturers. Throughout his time in industry, he spent as much time as possible driving culture and people improvement in the teams he led, and it was through these experiences that a love for Recruitment and a belief in people & culture centric business performance was born. He purchased the business off Founder Lynley Watson in 2018 and revels in the opportunity we have to enable better Mondays for many in important sectors driving major advances both in NZ and around the world.

Gary leads William Reed‘s HQ in Asia and is Editor-in-Chief of its food and nutrition titles FoodNavigator-Asia, NutraIngredients-Asia and CosmeticsDesign-Asia, as well as organising a number of high-level food, nutrition and cosmetics conferences, awards and summits. He started his career as a journalist in UK, where he we went on to edit several newspapers and consumer titles, before taking senior leadership roles in business-to-business media and events companies across the food, beverage, cosmetics, fashion, travel and media industries. Gary opened William Reed’s first Asia Pacific office in Singapore in 2016 and has spearheaded the expansion of its editorial, events and commercial operations across the region. Gary has hosted, presented and moderated at conferences and awards shows around the world, and has regularly appeared on TV and radio to discuss the food and nutrition, travel and tourism, and media and marketing industries.

Daniel Taylor

Daniel is NZTE’s Head of Focus Customers. He has held of number of leadership roles across NZTE, including Head of Manufacturing, trade commissioner for the United Kingdom and Ireland and trade commissioner and consul general for Melbourne, and NZTE private secretary to the Minister for Economic Development. Before joining NZTE, Daniel was involved in exporting fresh produce, with operations roles at ENZA and Global Fruits. Based in the beautiful Hawke’s Bay, Daniel and his wife Pip are the proud parents to two wonderful daughters. He’s an avid follower of almost any sport, with a particular passion for cricket and football and an appreciation for Aussie Rules Football that only comes from having lived in Melbourne.
